More chocolate than anything. Hints of coffee and barrel as well. Was hoping for more spice as other folks mentioned. Even when it warms, very subtle. Don’t see this improving in the cellar, drink fresh. Cheers!

Canadian Breakfast Stout (CBS) (2023)
Founders perfected the 23 batch. Not overly sweet and nicely balanced. Same as description-choc, coffee, just the right amount of oak with hints of vanilla and maple as it warms. The sweet quickly fades to the background executing a boozy finish. Cheers!

Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout 2023 (Mothership Series)
Still loving it 9 months later. When fresh I got much more bourbon/cognac which was absolutely amazing. Still good but muted after 9 months. Usually complexity increases after a short time. IMHO when Founders puts this out it’s best to drink fresh! Cheers

Solid example of centennial hops. Love the shade of copper, malty, and nice bitterness. The micro bubbles create a white laced cap throughout your entire journey. I’d recommend a glass as drinking from the can handicaps the experience and aromas. Cheers!

French toast in a bottle. Nice cinnamon, vanilla, and Mrs. Butterworth’s syrup coat the palate. Really a treat! Just need to be in the mood for such a sipper. No more than 2 at a time. Pass the butter please. Cheers!

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019)
2019 bomber (not cellared). Smooth but losing that decadent dark chocolate along with fading coffee and barrel. Nice root beer aromas as it warmed. A BBA I prefer more fresh or within a couple years. Drink now esp if not cellared, ox setting in. Cheers!

Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout 2023 (Mothership Series)
Heavy chocolate and coffee. Coffee with a dose of dark chocolate come through strong on the finish. After she warms the cognac and bourbon barrels really shine. Wow, 12.4% monster. A lot of depth to discover and she is smooth as a Mothership. Cheers

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022)
Chocolate fudge/coffee/slight oak. Don’t get the maple as prescribed. Smooth at 11%. Lighter mouthfeel than expected. Let it warm. Balanced without being overly boozy with nuanced barrel. Nice finish that lasts. By far my fav of the stout variants. Cheers
