90 Minute Imperial IPA

Imperial is an understatement. Full bodied with orange, mandarin, slight berry notes of raspberry. It's so fresh despite it probably taking six months to get to Oz and was bottled in 2022. It's a great beer & showcases the best USA has to offer

Kriek Boon (2020)

A smooth cherry beer. The lambic is a beautiful colour with a fresh taste. It goes down even better with the warmth of room temperature. May not knock your socks off, but such a smooth taste

Kriek Boon

A bright cherry flavour which comes off as a little artificial but it's still got a very classic skin contact flavour with a classic Lambic ale taste. It was one of the first craft beers I ever tasted. Still just as good as then

1000 IPA

Bottled 10/07/2015. Despite the label being different, the ABV. matches the beer description. The bitterness has dropped off to a barley wine level only 😂😂. Experimental, grassy, spiced malt backbone, almost Belgian trippel like. Maybe best I finish it.

Holiday Ale From To (Til Fra via Mikkeller)

A smooth warm smokeyness to this beer. Considering it was probably bottled 7 years, the beer reminds me of a real traditional porter, more malty than gimmicky with nutty, brown ale notes with an earthy smoked barley character with hints of woodyness

Geuze Mariage Parfait (2016)

Soft smooth very sessionable, how a good geuze should taste. The floral, Berry end is decent & very smooth but not overly concerned with giving you a heavy experience. Has a smooth flavour but for the price a very good representation of the style

Iris (2020)

Damn, a very nice tart, citrus character almost cherry acidity flavoured beer with a earthy, sourness. Very very bold funky flavour, very unique, very drinkable. A bold floral backend, one which bring levity to the beer. An experience

Fou' Foune (2020)

Full of Apricots, full of flavour and smooth as. Great tart flavour to begin & finishes with a light smooth, apricot skin flavour. A well made lambic, very smooth, very full flavoured

Oude Schaarbeekse Kriek (2019)

Very effervescent, very quiet beer. You expect the cherry flavour to be bolder yet it is very watery. As you can see, the bubbles are a little much. The beer is too little flavour wise, has an earthy backend which isn't favorable. Very light, boring

Oude Geuze A L’Ancienne VAT 108bis Mono Blend

There is a reason this won the World Beer Awards. This Geuze perfectly encapsulates what the style should be. Smooth oaky with a nice grassy sourness. Has a big amount of volatile acidity on the backend as described. But this is a sipping beer. Phenomenal

Kriek Mariage Parfait (2017)

Cherry lambics which keep the bright cherry flavour after 3 years is very rare. This not only does this but excels in giving an impressive cherry skin flavour. Thick like cherry juice & has a moreish flavour. Like eating a plume of cherries, very nice

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2015)

Deep deep beer, with a deep licorice & dark chocolate flavour. Huge layer of coffee & bourbon to boot. Just kills you with a thick deep character. Bold & well made. What an imperial. A killer

Más Agave (2019)

Smooth, sweet sourness with a great Agave syrup like flavour. Lime twist of sourness in there but quite light. Very smooth & sessionable beer, the barrel aging has done this well. Very refreshing.

Blushing Monk (2015)

Beautiful raspberry taste, with a deep red colour & a great smell. A light sour bitterness which you'd expect of a Belgian styled fruit beer. Well made with a jam like tartness. What do you expect with a brewery like Founders, always well made

Beer Geek Cocoa Shake

Been looking forward to this one. Feels like old fashioned stout. Roasty, with a great creamy chocolate vanilla body. Oatmeal backbone completes a nice full bodied stout. Very nice, shows what Mikkeller made there reputation off of

HORAL's Oude Geuze Mega Blend (2019)

Big collaboration of brewery's, full of fresh hop flavour, but has a very bold sourness. Very fresh & feels a little green. I reckon it needs a few years in the cellar. Nice sourness with grassy undertones but certainly needs a bit more smoothness.
