Pat Solano

Burque baby!

Man of many guilty indulgences. Of which, craft beer is my favorite.

Punkin Ale (2023) Solano

Kind of like those rectangular cookies that they give you on airline flights. Pumpkin definitely there with hints of gingerbread. Well balanced and rounded.

Citrus Squall Solano

Strong agave smell and taste with a citrus tang that almost leans toward a sour. Uniquely refreshing.

Crimson Cru Solano

Yes...was wanting something different that is good and this delivered. Sweet malt is balanced by a both bitter and sour. Hints of tart cherries jubilee with some of the wood must from the barrel.

Backwoods Bastard (2015) Solano

Huh! Still very effervescent and quite sweet. Has a smooth velvety texture that finishes a bit chalky bringing notes of vanilla, coconut, prunes, sherry, and chocolate pudding. On the verge of losing character but complex and still tasty.

Utopias Barrel - Aged World Wide Stout (2021) Solano

Worth the $$. I dropped $175 for Utopias after all. Prunes & figs meandering with French roast, drk chocolate and blackened honey whole wheat. Boozy like drinking an Old Fashioned. Celebrating Rams win & another ring for Von Miller🏉.

Velvet Rush Solano

Everything bagel when it comes to beer. I really like the bitterness that the barrel imparts to keep it from cloying. The coffee plays a part in that too. This is one that would definitely benefit from a few years of sleep.

Porter Solano

Paired with smoked, reverse seared ribeye, smoked chicken (women folk), loaded baked 'toes, sautéed bacon chard, and grilled squash. I can barely breath.

Blushing Monk Solano

It's been a minute (a long time according to my teenage kids). Very fruity, more like cranberry juice than raspberry. Hits all the notes with sweet, tart and bitter. Better than a foo foo cocktail.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2017) Solano

Impressed how this evolved in 3 years. Aroma is fruity now. Still a little hot with nuances of chocolate mousse and Tiramisu. Such a treat Ricky! THANKS!!

Backwoods Bastard (2016) Solano

Went vertical last night. This was sweeter with notes of vanilla more apparent. Not quite as smooth with a touch of heat. Just as good, slightly different. Thanks Tomb Raider Ricky!

Backwoods Bastard (2015) Solano

Nose is still boozy but the sip is mellow. Fig & raisin is front & center. Finish of toasted coconut, tangy dark fruit, molasses ending with a smoky dry burnt sugar bitterness. Aged quite well, thanks Ricky!

Vibrant P'ocean Solano

Rodenbach Cru was my 1st sour ever. Shit was like drinking vinegar. This is much more tame. Superbly crafted. Thick foamy head with complexity in aroma and flavor. I can really taste the foeder in the finish. Bone dry however.
