Grolsch Premium Lager P.

This is another late check-in from yesterday’s BBQ and it was also my 2nd Grolsch of the day. I still don’t know if this beer is supposed to properly identify as a lager or as a pilsner, but I don’t think that matters. It’s serviceable for any occasion.

Pre-BBQ Beer #1 before guests arrive. It’s hard to believe that I haven’t had it before. At the very least, this is my 1st time for checking this in on UNTAPPD. Is this a lager or a pilsner? 🤷‍♂️ I’m not sure and I don’t care. It serves its purpose.

Breakfast Stout P.

Founders original Breakfast Stout is one of my favorite stouts, although I erred in not allowing this to sit at room temp for a while beforehand. Coffee flavor is so strong though. This was bottled on 3/13/19. It’s another quality🍺share with my Dad.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) P.

I’m trying to catch up on Oscar contenders in time for the ceremony. This🍺is probably my favorite of the Founders KBS series that I’ve had to date, but I didn’t appreciate it quite as much this time around. Should’ve let it sit at room temp for longer.

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2019) P.

I’m going with a stout for my nightcap and I settled on a good one. It’s been a while since I last had this🍺. I finished watching “Birth of the Dragon” with my son tonight. At some point, I’ll need to introduce him to the real Bruce Lee movies though.

The🍺is a solid variant of KBS that I’ve had before. The 🎥 is “An American Werewolf in London.” It’s my 3rd entry for the 1981 category of HoopTober. This has been on my radar to watch for quite some time now, so I’m finally going to watch it tonight.

Late check-in from last night. The🍺is an appropriately strong Scotch ale from Founders. The movie ✅ checks another box for the HoopTober challenge and makes 2 of 3 Asian films now. “Seoul Station” is an animated prequel to the superb “Train to Busan.”

Late check-in from last night. Scotch-style ales aren’t typically my go-to beer for most occasions, so I can’t say that I’ve had too many of these before. With that said, this may be the best that I’ve had for that style. Founders rarely disappoints.

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) P.

It’s only my second time having this one, but I’m not exactly going out on a limb when I call this my favorite variant of Founders KBS. I just need to remind myself to let it sit longer at room temp after I pour this one before I start drinking it.

KBS Espresso (2020) P.

I’ll stick with my original rating for this one. It’s still pretty good. It’s just not as good as most KBS beers that I’ve had.

Big Luscious (2020) P.

This is so good with strong notes of chocolate and raspberry. It’s just too bad that the ABV isn’t higher. That’s a minor quibble though. This is another great stout from Founders in a long line of great stouts from Founders.

Backwoods Bastard P.

I had forgotten that I picked this up at Total Wine & More the other day, thereby making this a pleasant find in the garage fridge. Strong, sweet, and quite smooth....this is perfect for a Friday night.

KBS Espresso (2020) P.

There’s a lot of ☕️ here. It’s rife in the aroma and flavor. I let this sit for a while and tried taking my time with it. While this isn’t my favorite KBS variant, it’s still pretty darn good. It’s quite possible that I underrated this one last time.

Big Luscious (2020) P.

This beer is quite decadent and it tastes even better after sitting at room temp for a while. I’m rating this one slightly higher this time around. Happy New Year!

KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2020) P.

Wow, this one might be the best variant of KBS to date....at least, for what I’ve had from Founders thus far. It has strong notes of chocolate and coffee on the nose and palate....moreso of chocolate than of coffee. This is quite thick and scrumptious.

Big Luscious (2020) P.

Luscious indeed. This features strong notes of chocolate and raspberry. It tastes quite decadent. And this isn’t nearly as strong as some of the other comparable stouts from Founders.

Imperial Stout (2019) P.

One of my favorites. IMHO, this is better than CBS or KBS.
