Can’t say this improved after 2 years storage (but not ideal conditions to be honest). Pretty harsh burnt coffee, the BBA seems to have faded and the body thinned out. Far from bad, but not what I anticipated. Really nice with the leftover cheddar though.
Left this 2 years hoping it would mature and be easy drinking. Sadly the very bitter reduced espresso amplified, a tart touch developed and it got thinner. Alas, no aging candidate. Maybe not fair to score, but in case anyone finds an oldie, just skip it.
Bought cases of Grolsch from foreign ships in the harbor for peanuts in my youth (a looong time ago). Nicer porcelain caps then. Memories…🤪. Don’t think I’ve tried it since. Still a taste rich crispy malty Pilsner. Nice with food.
Must admit I’m a sucker for tart berry stouts, if balanced. Just love the tart “distortion” between the berries balancing the underlying charry coffee choco stout flavors. Even if this could’ve had a bit more stout impact, it’s a keeper.
The excellent KBS aged on espresso beans. A tad lighter but far from the coffee shock I expected; it’s an elevated coffee kick well merged into the KBS. Love it!
