Haven't a whole lot of experience with Wee Heavy Scotch Ales and how/if they mature, so I decided to crack open this Dirty Bastard from 2020. Hearty and warming. Smokey and peaty. Sweet and malty. Sweet, smokey aroma. Thick. It's a Delightful Bastard!!
Well it's a no-cay I'm afraid. I'm just at home. But this is an interesting brew! Light, refreshing, dry. Citrus notes and slight banana notes from the Wheat. Quite a back log of summer ales to clear you may notice. I ain't complain' though!
A delicious Gose. Very unusual. Brewed with watermelon and an old traditional Gose ingredient, Sea Salt. Sour and quite sweet. Watermelon shines through. A bizarre smooth creaminess to it owed to the Sea Salt!?
Back on the aul Porter train. Choo Choo! Lovely and creamy. Roasty and dry. A slight richness to it with light caramel and coffee notes. Strong enough for a Porter at 6.5% but hey, I ain't complaining! Who'd be complaining!?
