Round 5, #30. Picking up my final plate and the plates of some out of town friends. The drink is exactly what I expect from a Scotch Ale. Not quite my jam, but an excellent example of the style.

Lightly sweet then bitter and malty on the finish. Very drinkable for a DIPA tho

Boozy breakfast for lunch! Maple on the front, kick ass boozy goodness from them bastards that can do no wrong from that state up north.

A big imperial stout brewed with a lot of coffee and chocolate and bourbon, very boozy with a creamy, light texture. Notes of vanilla and cocoa.

Good low ABV beer. Decent flavor

Oh, this is sublime! The maple barrel ageing imparts a soft hint of syrup without sticky sweetness. Coffee flavor is more prominent. Can sense booziness but it is also subtle... this beer could embarrass you so be careful. Gonna drink more now...

Solid and delicious. But after the Snake Handler, a little thin.

I’ll take a bottle of the standard KBS instead 🤷‍♂️

Pretty similar to previous years. Perhaps a bit smoother but a lingering booze burn remains on the back end.

12 ABV: Nitro KBS is a big imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolate and then bourbon barrel-aged to perfection – running it through nitro gives it a creamy, light texture. Most Excellent

Good balance of roasty/malty and piney. A great barleywine!

Wow! Boozy but that takes a back seat to the maple and chocolate flavors. A little much for me but a great dessert beer.

This is a brew where the Nitro really works in terms of allowing the berries to shine through without going too sweet. Nice.

Chocolatey, maple, and lightly boozy in flavor

Extra credit for sublime smoothness. Every nuance slides gracefully into the next. If this maple fudge delicacy has any flaw at all, it is too easy to drink for such a high ABV. One of her new favorites, too.

This is the perfect beer to start with seeing as it can only go up from here.

Light and a little cereal at the finish. So a little malt and sweetness there

Pretty ok. The nitro blends all of the flavors together into just “here’s some syrupy-sweet”.
