Turn On the Dark

Other

Style: Barrel-Aged Stout/Barrel-Age Barley Wine Blend “Turn on the Dark” is a blend of 4 different barrel-aged beers. Three imperial stouts and one barley wine. The ratios of each were decided on through repeated samplings, blendings and more samplings. I mean, we really tasted this beer a lot. A lot a lot. Too many times if you ask my wife. But we didn’t care, only the right blend would do for for this release. “Turn on the Dark” has aromatic notes of bourbon, oak and dark chocolate. As it warms, flavours of raisins, tobacco, and molasses become more prevalent.

Good coffee and bready notes, slightly acidic like rye bread. Good blend.

Så er der sgu dømt portvin. For dælen den smager af portvin. Havde ventet noget helt andet.

Nice taste of molasses and coffee initially, with a bit of a bitter aftertaste. Great beer, just a little too much bitterness on the aftertaste compared to the first taste you get

Like the style name - Stoutwine Jonas K. And it absolutely clear why - thin as a red wine and black as a stout. Coming to the beer! Smells like a hideous wild fermented raspberry wine. Taste is fruity and with only minimum stout feelings. Not impressed

Notes of coffee, vanilla, sweet tobacco, raisins, roasted malt with hints of liquorice root. Quite dry, slightly bitter and sour and somewhat boozy. Was hoping for more. Balance is not quite there.

12,4% Imp. Stout/Barley Wine (Bourbon Fadlagret). Duft af fad og sødme. Smag klart af Bourbon & fad.
