What a lovely Bourbon smell!! So odd, for me at least, with such a brilliant Mikkeller BA beer. Sweet from Bourbon, slight boozy, chocolate notes
11 months ago
Beautiful pour! Followed up by a beautiful and absolutely no-nose! Well, I know, I’m always very straight forward, so maybe a little, minor malty! Mooothin’ fruity. Plesant weak pineapple and grapefruit taste. Grapefruit peel bitter finish
12 months ago
Probably one of the most boring Berliner ever tried. Blackcurrant and flower taste. But nothing sour, no rest taste besides the watery fruit flavour. But the name makes somehow sense.

Soft mouthfeel - leading my thought toward diacetyl, hmmm! Nothing fruity here, more malt and bread

Nelson Nelson John John Madsen
Quite deep powerful bitter grapefruit juicy. No sweetness here at all - a DIPA your style, I’m sure Brian S. Crisp

DØE Ølfestival 2024. Malty and very piney, thin classic IPA. A hint of citrus making it a bit more fresh. Crisp and clean. A little too boring for my taste.

Pale Ale Festival 2024! Åben is NOT a favorite Brewery in general. Confirmed! Malty sweet with a hint of a citrus
about 1 year ago
Pale Ale Festival 2024! Malty and weak lemon nose. Fine bitter taste with citrus flavours. Quite plain - but with OK body feel

After a long lovely day with so many great new and old friends - and beers - in the Beer Week, there is NOTHING than sitting with a beer enjoying the peace❤️ Very basic the beer is though - but right now who cares. Bitter malty in its classic expression
about 1 year ago
Clearly remembered when it was first released. Pretty long time back - WAY back. Today it is really not much more than a plain boring American IPA with no smell nor flavour.
Wauv, that is lactose’s smashed right in you face - it rather mouth, as it holds almost no smell. Unbalanced artificially sweet. Very very very bad really. Drain pour!!!!
Dry citrus nose. A little pine and grass - but formost “sour” citrus notes. Taste is more like a modern WC IPA than a NEDIPA. Dry and thin bodyfeel, no real fruit flavours and no depth. Sorry guys, plain and boring
about 1 year ago
Very classic IPA smell with a plain and clean hop fruity profile. That said it’s much more vibrant than a classic IPA. Stuffed with pineapple and peach flavours. Very thin and crisp without being real bitter. Like it a lot!
Jeeesus almighty - probably the worst beer tasted for ages!!!! Slightly sour taste - actually considering if this is infected. No carbonation at all
about 1 year ago
Mikkeller Færgekroen - Opening party! Fantastic location! Mike get down to earth again!!! The beer; well it’s a Mikkeller… OK bitter, classic ILA fruit touch, and an IK body, which I believe it the wheat. But no real flavour. It’s free though so why not😀
over 1 year ago
Sweet malted nose with no real fruity hints at all. I would a name change for this beer from Jævndøgn to Jævn Kedelig (boring in Danish). Basically it’s a sweet water!!

Vintermost I Permafrost Madsen
BB 26/04/24! No idea of the canning date. That, though, will not hold me back from giving my straight forward verdict. No smell what so ever. Taste is not bad - feel some coconuts and pineapple - thin body with limited hop bitter touches
over 1 year ago
Spiced citrus fruit and a hint of cucumber smell with some vanilla on the side. A little funny and weird. Thin citrussy taste. Weak in general
over 1 year ago
Citrus dominated WC style. A little thin and lacking some bitter hops
over 1 year ago
5,8 tons - time flies😀 Orange nose. Thin body actually manages to carry a lovely long lasting orange taste. Very fine balanced bitterness - first Bad Seed beer I really liked!

Sabro emerges when really tasting. Thin and IK bitter. Like it as a single IPA
over 1 year ago
1st CI almost 6 years ago! I wonder why (2,25!!). Clear - unfortunately - 3 day old arm sweat, well embedded in the shirt, after heavy work😓 Disgusting smell really. WC style I guess is intended - and sort of framed within the disc in terms of bitterness
over 1 year ago
Funky smell with a sour twist - definitely sour taste. Too tart!
Thanks Pontus J. Funky sour nose - nice. A bit too sour though. Tart taste
over 1 year ago
Chocolate smell and taste. Extremely thin texture and no X-Mas spices what so ever. Coconuts, ok where, Habanero, ok where, Tonja beans, ok where!!!???
ØJ-Day!🧑🎄 Much more Unicorn than X-mad flavours!!. Ridiculous to categorise this as a X-mas beer. Apparently everything can be sold as a X-mas beer from until 24. Dec. A little sour fruity - thin as water. Bad
over 1 year ago
ØJ-Day!🎄Getting tired of saying the same thing - this has nothing to do with a Xmas-beer. It’s a normal NEIPA, with no signs of X-mas spices etc. For sure citrus fruit. Fine body feel though - quite sour taste
over 1 year ago
ØJ-day🎅! X-mas beer - where, how and what? This is a NEIPA - summer and winter! Nice tropical smell and taste. Spiced with a fine body feel
over 1 year ago
I should had seen that coming, Brian S.! Fairly roasted - almost peated - nose at first. Softening up alright, and becoming a little sweet. Taste is way too roasted for me - no taste, but the roasted classic Russian Stout feel!

Sweyn Forkbeard - Sherry Barrel Release 2022 Madsen
BW no way, it’s more like a Strong Ale. Missing a lot of fruit, stone fruit and delicious deapth.
Love vibrant hop fruity smell - orange, strawberry and lime. Good fat body feel. Not that prominent fruit taste - though still present for sure. Bitter ending. All in all a fine mouthful.

Curse of the Hop Monster Madsen
Limited nose in general - a little citrus and malty. Taste is much more like it. Soft and smooth mouthfeel - semi-sweet fruity and a very fine bitterness.
It’s 5.5% and not alkohol free!! Fry and bitter orange snd pineapple taste. Quite thin as expected
over 1 year ago
Very classic IPA in all aspects - except for look which is somehow a bastard - hazy but quite dark for a NEIPA. Malty nose - on a good day! Taste is crisp, fairly bitter with just a hint of something I believe is Hops! No signs of a oat mouthfeel

Dry thin grapefruit nose. Thin body, with a fruity touch of grapefruit/pineapple extract.boring

“Chr. 4-Tal Pilsner Festival”! Really lovely West Coast smell - many WC IPA’s could learn from this! Aromatic crisp taste - surely this a IPL and not a Pilsner but it’s nice. Dry and crisp
almost 2 years ago
“Chr-4-Tal Pilsnerfestival”! Fine hoppy smell - really like the idea of a Dry Hopped Kellerbier. Very soft and malty - without sweetness. Missing some bitterness and a crisp touch. Very easy drinkable for non-beerr drinkers. Becoming very watery
almost 2 years ago
Sweet heavy malt driven taste. Great hoppy finish saves it a bit at least. But the overall picture is not that great
almost 2 years ago
I like the smell of ? - Seabuckthorns?!? I have no idea😆 Taste is watery, thin in taste - or rather with no taste! Sorry to admit, I have never really enjoyed any beer from Åben, but at least then they are expensive🤪🫤🤷♂️
almost 2 years ago
Light fruity start - tangerine and pineapple. Very thin base with mainly pineapple and grapefruit flavours. Tending to become watery late - but still with a classic bitter IIPA ending.
First time I rate this!! Possibly because I never really finished a beer from Ebeltoft. I honestly do not find it / in general / very interesting or brilliant craftsmanship, sorry to say. A little malty - Pilsner malt - in nose. Thin mouthfeel with ➡️

Kentucky Breakfast Stout (KBS) (2016) 11.9% Madsen
7 years old makes it’s impact on BA taste. Still though it is lovely smooth and creamy. Some coffee obviously in a moderate way. Taste is ecoming a bit dry. Still a hint of Bourbon - but as said it’s minimised by now

Rosé De Gambrinus (2022) Madsen
Jesus and the almighty sour gods!!!! This is screaming sour😳😆Way Way WAY too sour for my delicate and quality sentitive tastebuds!! Fine cherry taste though

Mid-summer X-mas Gose!! ! After a lovely smell of passion fruit etc, taste following up with a clear lactoses and a milkshake like taste with fresh tropical flavours. Fine body feel. This is really nice in this warm weather.
Gentle opening with a vanilla and cherry smell. Taste is obviously thin and with a weaker cherry taste - way too weak. Too sour compared to the amount of fruit
about 2 years ago
Since last Saturday, I’ve had something with Braggots! This is funky good stuff.. The mix of honey and malt really works for me. This time in a sour version - with Cola Gummi bears. Real Cola taste - a secret sweetness luring behind. Having fun!
Maybe I wasn’t neither no. 1 or 2 in the world for this beer - but one thing is for sure - this is my last!!! Not just an offensive pour - also an abbusive - attempt of doing a PA. A PA!!!! Thin as water, malty as a Carlsberg pils! Just horrible
about 2 years ago
T-4 hours🎸🤘🤘Malt bitter and bread - typical WC nose. Taste is, well is really? Sabro in a WC? anyways, fine bitter taste with that tropical touch.

Bourbon Barrel Aged Adambier Madsen
Nice Bourbon aroma. No real body feeling - which of course should be the way with this style. Very thin mouthfeel with mostly Bourbon flavours.
Colab Gamma! Intense sweet tropical fruit smell - way too sweet. Unfortunately, that feeling persist in taste. It’s way too sweet - and despite a prominent bitterness it’s not sufficient to kill the nauseating sweetness. Fine bodyfeel
about 2 years ago
Very accurate description by T A. - clear dry green session nose and taste. More bitterness than expected, which is very nice. But as in most Sessions they are too thin imo
about 2 years ago
Like the style name - Stoutwine Jonas K. And it absolutely clear why - thin as a red wine and black as a stout. Coming to the beer! Smells like a hideous wild fermented raspberry wine. Taste is fruity and with only minimum stout feelings. Not impressed
about 2 years ago
Dusty hay barn nose with quite a portion acidly smell like white unripe grapes. Taste is tart and very dry. As a non-sour lover I really like the taste here. Surely a lot of vinegar but it has a fine dry reference to grapes. Am I starting to get sour🫣😳?
Colab Y Not Brewing! No feeling of coconut in nose, which is dominated by cold crashed coffee with a very aromatic bean. Taste is not really roasted but getting that brilliant aromatic coffee giving it a fresh touch. A balanced and clear sweetness from➡️

Back to the very start!! My Fall-in-love-with-Craft-Beer. Nostalgic rating maintains unchanged even though it should be a bit lower🙃 Not as aromatic, bitter as always - more Pilsner malty.

A little strawberry nise alright, but otherwise neutral. Sweet and sour fruity taste - citrus and mango. Thin, crisp and bitter

I'm Dreaming of A Kveik Christmas Madsen
Yeasty Kveik nose obviously. Taste is absolutely fantastic - never thought I would say that with a Fanø beer. Kveik big time with lovely spicies and fruited flavours. Very thin but best Kveik IPA so far

Bad Seed Beer Fest Beer Madsen
DK’s opening in the scandalous Qatar world cup - citrus, malty, dank and meat on the edge of becoming rotten. Funny style mix - only semi sweet, BW or bock obnoxiously feel, bitter WC taste and citrus sour. It’s all over the place - fun but not in balance
over 2 years ago
Occulation Oak Barrel Aged W. Rom Madsen
Very clear Ruhm nose - fruited. Sweet rhum taste - some coffee and obnoxiously fruity from a typical Rhum flavour. Not balanced

Waking Up To Pomme Grenades Madsen
Wonderful nose - multi fruit juice with a strawberry focus. Slight sour, with that lovely Pommes grenade flavour. Thin and very refreshing - love it
over 2 years ago
Wauv wauv this can be substituted - or rather water could be substituted with this so-called “beer”. First of all it’s really really really watery and boring - nothing near anything X-beer nor a beer!!! Come on guys!!!
Sharp fresh taste of - hmmm - not much honestly. Malty and some fruit ok. But watery and extremely boring
over 2 years ago
Colander Neon Raptor! Super fresh fruity smell. Taste is likewise lovely fresh - a bit malty base but fine fruity flavour.

Chocolate and earthy aromas are dominating smell. Dry roasted taste - but clearly an oatmeal stout with a fine soft mouthfeel despite the roasting. Gentle stout but lacking sooo much in order to bring my blood near the boiling point

“Big aroma” - absolutely; complex fruit mix with notes of peaches and strawberry. Lovely. Very dank taste after a nice peachy and strawberry start. Quite dry and thin mouthfeel. A bit disappointing after that fantastic nose.

Willibald Farm Brewing colab! Mellow sweet pineapple nose. Quite sweet soft and mellow mouthfeel with a funny fruit bitter touch. Who said it contained ABV 10%??😁It’s lovely

Plain obnoxiousness in both nose and taste. For me this is a classic UK BW and no where near an American BW. Way too… - just way too!!!

JESUS F….. Christ, this is probably the worst IPA ever tasted. I rather ENJOY 100 South-of-The-Alps IPA’s within an hour than drinking more of this flower watering thing!!! BAD BAD

It is totally incomprehensible to me why paying to be a verified venue, and not updating the menu for a month!! And what really pisses me off is that and I go in vain😡 Back to THEIR beer…Malty sweet with just a hint of fruit. Decent classic IPA with➡️

Powerful and beautiful smell of Apricots. Surely I can smell the sour-touch miles away, but generally it’s a very nice smell. Taste is…. bloody sour, and despite a fruity reference point it is VERY much on the edge for me.

I hope the extremly dry lawn enjoyed more than me!!! Really bad imo - dry boring coffee - no lactoses at all at no taste besides coffee at all
about 3 years ago
Very limited aroma. Funny, and actually more weird, “sour” dry taste. It’s too annoying anonymous with an extremely “low-fat” body and general mouthfeel. Really dry & bitter nice touch - but taste would have done it good!!

Mas Agave Prickly Pear (2021) Madsen
9,7% ABV Limonade. Do not get the Tequila BA, but it’s lovely fruit sweet and semi-sour at the same time. Very easy drinkable

Versus: West of the Moon Madsen
PAF 22! Dry and crisp classic IPA style. Do not get a lot of fruityness - fresh??! More Pale Ale taste than WC
about 3 years ago
Bitter IPA - but still with.a very fine fruity touch. Like it
about 3 years ago
Fine apricot nose, with acidity louring in the back😵💫. Well, not near as bad as expected. Surely, it’s tart and sour but “Clear apricot reference is, not only making it bearable, but actually quite tasty” quote Mr. Sour-hater-Madsen. Dry and crisp
about 3 years ago
The most hyped Danish beer in 2022 to date I guess - I am not impressed at all, sorry to say. BA notes sure, but not in any way enough - base is too thin on top of that, lacking taste and clearer direction..Still some chocolate and weak BA warming touch
over 3 years ago
Gorm the Old - Rum Cask Edition Madsen
Chocolate with a dark fruity sidekick - absolut fantastic nose!!! Taste is disappointing compared to nose. Too thin and not able to maintain the fantastic notes from smell. A little harsh unpleasant bitter besides the fruity touch. No real BA reference
over 3 years ago
Classic IPA, with a modern touch in terms of fruity flavours. Good bitterness and fine malty sweetness

Perfect grape nose - green, soft and somehow with some grassy touch. Taste is great - mild, though dry with a grape-sour touch - for once I really like a Cantillion
