Vigneronne (2005)

Lambic - Fruit

The name Vigneronne Cantillon was given in 1987. This name reminds us that, while it belongs to the beer patrimony, the spontaneous fermentation, the ageing in the barrels for several years and the addition of grapes make it a distant cousin of certain white wines. In spite of its success, the Vigneronne represents less than 5% of the total production of the Cantillon brewery. In order to obtain grapes which are as mature as possible, we buy them at the end of the season. Every year, 1000 kilos of white italian grapes are delivered at the Cantillon brewery in the beginning of October.

Bit shaken, lots of stonefruit, tart, amazing grape profile, lemon notes, light forest floor notes. Mango. Super nice!

Kul att dricka en så gammal Cantillon. Lite för sur för min smak men ändå väldigt gott.

Misty apricot. Muscat grape. Light gunpowder. Sour, balanced, great.

Tart, sour, intense, fruity, hint of gunpowder, hint of oxidation notes (bought in ölbutikken, copenhagen 2006-ish)

Bought at Ølbutikken. Sour and funky with murky oxidation notes. Not much grapes anymore, more like a vinous vibe instead. Perhaps a bit buttery white wine notes present. Dry, wooden finish with acidity.

What a beer! Tart, funky, hint of stone fruits, grapes. Slightly more carb and it would’ve been perfect
