Bit watery, but with the elderflower coming through nicely. Expected more raspberry, but it's dialed down

Juicy with orange, mango, grapefruit and passionfruit. Bit dank with some bitterness in finish

Malty backbone with a piney lingering bitterness in finish.

Cork not in best shape, and it shows a bit. Not that bad though. Bitterness coming through well now.

Dinner beer @work. Tart raspberries with coffee, lemon and green pepper. Feeling bit odd, but not off

Really missing the bourbon barrel forward notes from Backwoods Bastard... Here it's all maple syrup and cinnamon. Apart from the nutty spiciness lingering, there's also a lingering bitterness there. Good, but just too much spiciness.

Oude Geuze Boon Black Label Edition N°9
Very dry funky mustiness with grapefruity and mineral notes.

Goliat Cognac Barrel Aged (2023)
Spicy green pepper coffee with a bit of heat in finish. Roast, fruity cognac, salt licorice and dark chocolate. Good, but bit harsh and not liking the balance, not to mention the salty green pepper feel...

Canned 17Nov23. Lucky DIPA 13? Unlucky number 13 for me, got some Sabro in there... Still not overpowering, so good enough

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2019-2020)
Musty, bit wet wood corky and slight apple cider vinegary.

Blue grape notes with hints of raspberry, blueberry and a certain spiciness. Red wine vibes but with light funk and balanced sourness.

Bruocsella 1900 Grand Cru (2017)
Bottled 25Aug17. Up and downs with Bruocsella's for me, but this is a great one in my eyes (and palate). Lots of peppery oak and musty wet wood funk with a acidic lemony touch. Balanced sourness, and lack of carbonation gives it a smooth mouthfeel.

Almost no pop when opening, which isn't a good thing for me with Iris. Close to flat, bringing forth maltyiness not letting the dry hopping come through properly flavor wise. Sour and bit funky with a bitter finish. Close to a bitter Bruocsella...

Balanced sour and funky, yet some berry acidity, with a cherry skin vibe rather than the full on cherry jam that I prefer. Not a fave vintage, but great as always

Roasty coffee with mellow bourbon notes. Old school balanced as roast feels soft just as bourbon, plus bit thin by today's standard. Vanilla and toasted oak lingers in finish with bourbon booziness as soon as the roast have faded.

Cuvée Saint-Gilloise (Champions) (2023)
A (hidden) gem in the Cantillon catalog. The Hallertau add a fresh citrus and elderflower touch that melds nicely with the sourness, and a light herbal bitterness to the light wooden and funky base. 4.25+

Vanilla caressed raspberries with an acidic finish. Light hint of blueberries, raspberries overpowering here

Cantillon Grenache Blanc (2022)
White grapey with apple like acidity and young funk. Touch sulphury

Canned 8Sep23. Juicy with a slight citric touch. Grapefruit, pineapple, passionfruit and orange. Some bitterness in finish.

Sweet and rounded with nice flavor profile, this one just screams for a BBA version!

Great return since the last 50°N I tried was the awful batch #6 2020. Diversity and complexity from the triple barrel assault, where the sweet aspects from especially cognac and marsala emerge. Splendid balance of sour, sweet, funk and barrels.

Every time drinking a new vintage of Foune, hoping it will be a return to the glory days. By far the most sour vintage, not leaving much room for the apricot jamminess. Got a sweaty type of funk going. Fingers crossed for next vintage...

Peppery notes enhanced, almost missing more elderflower, but liking this a lot

Oude Geuze Boon à L'Ancienne VAT 91 Mono Blend (2016)
Rounded off by now, but the abv still bit too noticeable...

Sweet, bit roasty, with chocolate, coffee, spices and syrup. Good, but leaning too much towards roast and coffee for me...

Late from end of Jan22. Pre taster from JVR. Still pretty young, sulphury notes present. Still nice and rich blue grape flavor with a touch of blackberry

Under fermentation, taster from JVR. Bit sulphury with nice white grape notes

Slightly too sweet and you can tell that the lambic isn't that old as it's not that complex. Nice cherry flavor with cherry seeds, almond, vanilla and lemon. Light cherry candy vibe to it.

Canned 12Jan23. Solid as usual with the #-series. Perhaps a bit fatigued by now though... 3.75-

Malty with a herbal bitter finish. Lacking in nuances, pretty much straightforward, but still good

Holiday Ale From To (Til Fra via Mikkeller)
Bit sharp with a muscovado sugar vibe. Licorice, chocolate, char, coffee and caramel.

Slightly late, crap wifi on flight. Canned 23Jan23. Nice with a "fresh" can for once.

Brown ale shootout, vs Ho Ho Hazelnut. Hope that the keg is old. There's some tartness present, and it's got a light "wild" touch to it... Malty with caramel, chocolate and spices. Dry finish with bitterness.

Canned 6Jul22. Would normally not buy a beer this age, but missed out on this one 3-4 times. Who can resist the trip down memory lane, an LP sized CD with sound better than a DVD? What a time to be alive. Wishing the IPA was alive too... Still OK.

Sour cherries with a touch of cherry seeds and cinnamon. Balanced sourness and acidity. 4.0+

Not often rhubarb comes forth, but here it does even if as usual bit laidback. Light funk, light wooden, but yet so good rhubarb notes.

Fresh raspberries, then a touch of raspberry jam. Sour, light funky. Effervescent with acidity growing in finish.

Grand Cru Bruocsella Lambic Bio (2022)
Cork says 2022, bottled 12Jan23 and brewed season 2019-2020. No 2023 on Untappd yet, so this'll do for the moment... Classic flat lambic with grains, funk, cereals, toast, lemon and oaky vanilla and spices. Balanced acidity and sourness

Cheers to my Korean friends for the taster! Still having problems with that toilet stone vibe 😅 It hasn't really mellowed yet...

Nice balance between Sangiovese and lambic. Got some red berry and light almond (that cherry seed thing) vibes. Pretty high carbonation.

Green coffee notes meets a syrupy base with a light kiss of bourbon. Syrup vs green coffee sort of neutralizes the green pepper notes even if there. Light gluey touch to the sweetness. Hoped for more bourbon barrels and didn't expect the gluey notes...

Canned 31Oct22. Malty caramelly backbone with a resinous bitter finish. Perhaps a tad sharp feel to the bitterness, even if far from unpleasant. Bit oniony hops, marmaladey European WCIPA style, with pine, grapefruit, peach and citrus
