Monk's Brew aka Monk’s Elixir is a heavy dark Belgian ale inspired by the Trappist monasteries of Rochefort and Westvleteren. The beer style, characterized by its high content of alcohol, distinguishes itself by its dominant yeast character, delicious malt background and balanced hop notes.

Här hade jag hoppats på klart mer. Plommon sultanrussin och kanske även lite dadlar men det är blekt. Sött och tunnt. Jag vet inget om munkrecept men nog ska det vara en rejäl skopa rostad malt i botten. Det är det i alla fall inte här. Gott ändå.

2017. Malty, a lot of caramel, fig, and some dark bread. A bit of raw alcohol still. As it warms, less alcohol and more nuttiness and toffee develop. Great with Alpine cheese and Gouda, good with cheddar, less good with brie.
