French Toast Bastard

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

They nailed the flavor. Like a big ole slice of french toast, topped with powdered sugar and slathered with maple syrup. Perhaps a wee bit sweet, but still yummy.

Nice smooth cinnamon flavor on front with some underlying bourbon notes. The maple slowly blends in. Some light vanilla n’breadiness follows. 11.1% is only moderately noticeable. Slightly sweet without being overly so. Cinnamon carries throughout.

Over the top sweet, actually taste like they put syrup inside it, good flavor too strong

Nice work founders. I am not a maple beer fan, but this mellows quick.

Oof. It's good but weirdly tastes/smell hallmark. Cheers Chauncey!

There’s something to be said about this one, so smooth yet has that warm maple flavor with a hint of vanilla. If I’m going French Toast beers I’m not going to lie Southern Tier’s French toast is hands down the best I’ve had.

Tastes like you’re eating French toast. Wouldn’t want more than one due to that but they nailed what they were going for. 11.1%
