French Toast Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

It's sure tasty but too much cinnamon for me. It leaves a bitter after taste. I love their bastards damnit.

Sorry—not my favorite Bastard: can’t taste (or smell) any “barrel”! A tad cinnamon-burned for me.

Maple, cinnamon made for a brunch; pour it on your French toast

the OG Backwoods Bastard is better. This is too mapley sweet for me. Hides the barrel I love way too much .

I rated this much higher last time. Not digging it this time. Has a popcorn butter taste going on.

Letterkenny. I love Founders but this is not for me. Tastes like a complex Yankee Candle

Decent, but not my favorite collection of adjuncts. Mainly, the maple is overdone.

Like I put low quality maple syrup in bourbon. Not feeling it.

Scotch Ales aren’t my fav, including Dirty & Backwoods Bastards. But I still had to try this. Love the cinnamon & vanilla + the barrel vibes. I can tell this is great, but the flat, sticky sweet malt bomb beneath the gimmick just doesn’t do it for me.

Wow, this reminds me of waffle crisp cereal. lol Quite sweet with a lot of maple and some spice. Definitely not one I could drink more than 12oz at a time.

Boozy, malty cinnamon french toast. I’ve been wanting to try this for a LONG time. Definitely not my style, but it’s good.

Phew. Going hard in the paint with those adjuncts. Really enjoyable for about 6oz. Then it’s all downhill from there.
