French Toast Bastard

Scotch Ale / Wee Heavy

Backwoods Bastard gets the 4-star breakfast treatment. Our bourbon barrel-aged Scotch Ale is introduced to maple syrup, cinnamon, and sweet vanilla for a decadent brunch-inspired sipper. Breakfast for dinner, anyone?

At first I was thrown off because I was expecting it to taste like a stout. But once I got over that I really enjoyed it

Love the standard Backwoods Bastard, but the sweet overtone is way too much. Not sure what I'll do with the other 3 bottles. I hope this new release ages well.

One of the most fragrant French toast brews ever. Vanilla, cinnamon and nutmeg. The scotch ale base is a little thin for the profile but sldamn if it isn't still good. Not overly sweet

The maple and cinnamon balance is perfect, with roasted malts coming in also. Awesome stuff.

OMG.... This is it. This is a bona fide game changer. Love the balance, hint of cinnamon and smoothness of vanilla with a finish of barrel aged.. Wow

Enjoyable but nearly falters over the too sweet line. French toast a fully accurate description.

Loads of maple. Really good, but nearly too much or too artificial. Paired well with Wake Up Wednesday breakfast for dinner.

Excellent sweet stout with loads of flavors: vanilla, cinnamon, maple syrup, bourbon. And roasted malts. Very highly recommended 👍👌👏🏻❤️

Lots of maple on the nose. Cinnamon throughout the sip. Not sure it’s an improvement on the base BB.

Smells like French toast. Tastes like I should dip my French toast in it. But lighter, not syrupy.
