4 Giants IPA

IPA - Imperial / Double

We’ve made a lot of imperial IPAs over the years and, in turn, have had a lot of arguments over which one is the absolute best. So, to settle this once and for all, our brewers mashed up four of our favorite recipes into the ultimate imperial IPA. 4 Giants boasts aggressive bitterness balanced by a malty, sweet backbone while huge aromatics come courtesy of the seven American hop varieties.

Malty and smooth up front, a little bit of a bitter pine at the end. Just what I wanted this evening.

Seems like an improvement over last year’s. Not that it was too shabby then.

I’ve only had double trouble as far as I recall. This is very good w classic American bitterness. Definitely see the DT influence. Side note: I had one of the best beers I ever tasted at PBW13. BA Cashew Mountain Brown.

Decent beer, big hops, malt noticable, awesome color, should be an APA with the pine

Pungent yet approachable bitterness with piney hop tones and healthy malt base to smooth the ride. Thanks Roger!

Pours amber with slight head, smells of line and alcohol, tastes of hops and heavy malt, mouthfeel is smooth and lightly carbonated, finishes with an alcohol bite but not too bad, a classic DIPA, good not great

Thick sweet dank maltiness that is balanced against hoppy pine and grapefruit. Resinous with a bitter finish. Lots of deep flavors going on. Great imperial IPA from Founders.

I like it. Been looking for a boozy, malty, not hazy IPA. That being said, that pretty much sums up the description of this beer. Boozy, malty. Nothing complex.
