Underground Mountain Brown

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Underground Mountain Brown is the harmonious drinking experience only achieved when our imperial brown ale, earthy sumatra coffee and a year aging in caves below Grand Rapids comes together. A team of malts complement the bold sumatra coffee perfectly, while time spent immersed in oak creates layers of depth and complexity. A celebration of the barrel, the bean and everything in between.

Nice chocolate and bourbon in the nose. Follows through in the middle. Well done varrel ageed beer.

Being under ground isn't so bad. Never drinking this brown again would make me a bit sad. Bourbon barrel ales have such unique tones. With every sip I take, I release an delectable moan.

It's good and now a fan. I think it's the closest you can get without having a good stout. 👍👍

Very solid body, high but balanced alcohol, dark bread, coffee, chocolate, some sweetness, distinct barrel character. Great, complex beer.

Tasty Beverages

Very good, a little hot, but I guess it is 11.9%. Don’t get a lot of coffee, but hey, it’s fall so it’s time to bust out the dark beer.

Really a sorta lightweight porter. Bourbon and coffee both make it through. Perfect for later in the evening.

Bottled 29-Jul-19, cellared 1 year: Nose of rich soil, coffee grounds, and nutmeg. Slight medicinal bitterness on the tonguetip. Medium body and carbonation. More coffee than medicine on the tongue, but bitter prevails throughout. Boozy bourbon.

Surprisingly good. I usually don’t enjoy brown ales, but I think anything barrel aged and high ABV comes out ok.

Lots of coffee flavor and bourbon with it too. Very boozy and at 11.9% ABV, this is a beer to knock your socks off

You can smell the bourbon, but the alcohol presence is fairly mild. Chocolate malt flavor is definitely there, but not extreme.
