BB 15 Jun 2024 (90 baht): my favorite easy-to-find pils - could crush back to back to back
about 1 year ago
Cellared 3 years - Pour: dark, unctuous. Nose: coffee, vanilla, bourbon; clove, char, and rubber. Body: silky. Profile: dominated by earthy and acidic coffee, tapering into bitter grounds, ending on a vanilla note. Finish: vanilla-tainted coffee grounds.

Bottled 26 Oct 2020 Best by 26 Oct 2021 Cellared 14 months Nose: maintains big maple fudge profile w/ booze, char; astringent. First note has deadened predictably: more milk chocolate than dark, bitter ash, bitter cocoa; gum-numbing aftertaste.

Much more espresso character than previous version, which overpowers the base stout. Not as full or rich as before. Didn't buy one to cellar. Had cellared and drunk the previous version, but seems I never checked in to it. Hmm.

This is the bomb every time - lip-smacking

First nose: coffee grounds, toffee, ash. Second nose: spirit, vague fermented fruit. Light body. Taste: strong tea, tobacco, more ashin the aftertaste; light sweetness riding the bitter, malty profile.

Gave this a 4.5 while high, so now I'll adjust the scale just while inebriated. Still thick and grapefruit juicy, almost pulpy. A bit sticky but lovingly tart.

The only thing better than a beer sale is free beer. Bought from Thon Hops Beer.

Pillowy citrus nose. Rising bitterness peaks with a moderately sour citrus twinge, yet with a sweet lingering aftertaste.

Un-cellared bottle--Dark, unctuous pour with nice head. Nose: roasted coffee, vanilla, bourbon, char, smoke, clove... a lot going on but not overwhelming, sharp alcohol. Moderate carbonation with heavy body. Taste-wise: bourbon-forward profile with coffee

Bottled 29-Jul-19, cellared 1 year: Nose of rich soil, coffee grounds, and nutmeg. Slight medicinal bitterness on the tonguetip. Medium body and carbonation. More coffee than medicine on the tongue, but bitter prevails throughout. Boozy bourbon.

Damn close to perfection. Orgasmic. Thank you, Kurt Cobain.

Light candied hops, a fave of mine. Moderate sweetness, great mouthfeel. Great.

More blood orange than raspberry. Solid gose.

Yeast and pineapple nose - strange, but nice. Fermented pineapple, lightly sweet, smooth bitterness. Good mouthfeel.
