Personally prefer the normal KBS! This one is leaning a little too much towards a pure chocolate stout for my preference. Still doesn’t hurt the beer in anyway, because it’s a perfectly balanced masterpiece of a stout in every other regard.

Really strong coffee, sweet stout. Couldn't really taste maple or chocolate over the coffee flavor, they were there but not balanced. Have yet to find a coffee stout that is balanced however

Very thick and full bodied brew. The chocolate and coffee notes are immediately present, but the bourbon hints don’t come until it hits the back of your tongue. Creamy and heavy, so a slow sipping brew! Happy holidays! 🎅

The nose on this is astounding. Nice chocolate blast on initial sip, with a solid body rounded out with a strong coffee taste.

Lotta coffee, fair amount of maple and chocolate. Not as much barrel as I recall. I don’t really recall KBS very well but I don’t recall it having so much coffee. But that’s more likely my memory of it. Very solid but nothing mind blowing. 4.35
