Not as malty as I expected it to be given the era. Like a warm hug to when I first started getting into craft.

Nice Berries, sweet malts don't dominate this one. Nice finish, was really worried about this one.

One of my closest friends in college got me a 4 pack of this for graduation in 2006. Still remember the wicked hangover!

3/31/11: Poured a clear golden color with a thick, foamy white head. Aroma is touch of sweet/bitter light fruits, touch of spice. Flavor was a mild malt one, with touches of hops.

7/22/09: On tap at Falls Church Dogfish Alehouse. Very interesting brew. Very cloudy light orange color, small head. Aroma is spice (ginger came to mind), tea, juniper, yeast. Flavor is spicy, tea, sweet.

12/14/09: 750 ml bottle. Pours a hazy dark yellowish color. Aroma is a powerful blast of hops, with notable amounts of sweet, light malts. Flavor is hops, hops, hops. Citrus, grapefruit, pine. It’s a great, wonderful IPA.

2/24/06: 12 oz. Golden copper color, with a thick foamy head. Hoppy flavor with a malty kick. Pretty smooth, with not a rough finish

9/7/07: I’m a big fan of Ginger and I really didn’t taste any real ginger notes in this. It was the first beverage I had in the evening so my palate was clean.

Slight juicy character, a lot sweeter and maltier than I expected it to be, though I should have anticipated since we are talking about DFH...

Rated 7/17/10: Beer pours out a light-red amber color with a almost white fluffy head. Aroma is hoppy, caramel goodness. Flavor is a solid hop, dry, sweet malt one.

Rate 9/17/11: Poured a blood red color, with a dark pink foamy head. Aroma was raspberries, raspberries, raspberries. The fruit level in this one was almost at lambic levels. The alcohol is pretty well masked, but it’s probably just because the raspberry

Aroma was extreme malts, notes of chocolate malts, coffee notes, alcohol shines through. Flavor was rich, roasted malts, burnt notes, alcohol. Pretty darn good. (May 7, 2011)
