Complex is both flavor and aroma, each sip brings a new facet to the forefront. Aroma is strong with honey and earthy spices. A bit of chocolate creeps in during the first sip. There is an air of chili pepper, but neither the taste nor burn surfaces;

Well aged, smooth and interesting member of the Dogfish Head 'ancient ale' family. Balanced and enjoyable flavor but nothing stands out as 'distinctive' like you get with Midas Touch.

An Ancient Ale that is aged and I was pleasantly surprised that it aged fine. Even the chillies survived to lend a nice gentle spice

Very prominent on the honey and the cocoa comes out subtlety. Sweet and mild. This particular bottle was bottled in 2011 so it's 11 y/o and it held up nicely.

Slight spice that has likely faded a bit with the age of this beer, but still very tasty. Chocolate still comes through a bit as well. Sweet and smooth.

Definitely interesting. Sweet & get the honey flavor but not getting the ancho chili flavor at all.

Not my cup of tea, though it almost reminds me of a tea based drink based on the flavor. Definitely one of the most unique beers I've had
