Panther Cub (2021)

Porter - Other

A robust porter, Panther Cub is aged in the finest bourbon barrels available along with a kiss of maple syrup and vanilla extract. The aroma of maple and vanilla notes combine with a surprisingly deep character to make this rare creature one to gaze upon fondly. Don’t let it fool you, this kitty has claws.

BARREL AGED. Erg bijzonder biertje! Vanille smaak, koffie maar ook een beetje fruiterig.

Candy in a glass. Sticky sweet with vanilla dominating. Yummy but couldn’t have more then one.

3.9. I want more. It’s smooth and as a porter top notch. I want an imperial stout version.

The vanilla is almost completely over powering the maple. Very sweet and sticky.

Much more subdued flavorings that the last one, with the wonderful barrel quality I've come to expect from Founder's. Thanks for the beer Paul S.

That is pretty good... less coffee tasting than most porters to me

Thanks D M. Nice, easy drinking BA stout from Founders. Coffee was the main note up front but did get some more maple, barrel and coconut as it warmed a bit

Bottle reminded me of the “sex panther” bit on Anchorman 🤣. Glad it didn’t taste like it!

Roasted malty aromas, toasted caramel and espresso. Light delicate entrance, with the maple covering slightly the rye malty cereal body. Vanilla is the biggest adjunct adding a smooth silky finish, but this is still fairly light. Bourbon? Very light.

Warm: this may be one I have to try cold but the thing about vanilla is a little goes a very very long way and in this case there is too much. Like several other craft beers the vanilla and maple combo overpower even the bourbon strong taste of the beer.
