Sweet malt, roasty, great maple character. Vanilla is present but more in the background. Hard to pick up the bourbon barrel, would be interesting to taste an unaged variation. Lighter body than expected. Tasty stuff!

Appetizer beer before dinner. Initially tasting muted white chocolate chased by maple. Bourbon is subtle and plays a complimentary role. I’m probably off on this but this is what I’m getting. Love their BA releases... have yet to disappoint.

The maple syrup is strong in the taste with the roast and chocolate. The vanilla and bourbon and in the background in support.

Rich and viscous porter. Pour is thick, black midnight. Maple syrup teams with vanilla extract for a medium sweetness. Get a bit of the barrel on the finish, but it’s not overpowering.

Dense and aromatic with an intense nose of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla and sweet candy sugar. The maple is a dominant flavor, and it is instantly one of my favorite Founders brews to-date. All the rich complexity of CBS in a more earthy, smoky porter.

Oh yeah. Sooooooo good. Let it warm up a little to be able to taste all the flavors. Not too boozy. Rich, thanks for bringing a couple of these bad boys up. Did get you a 4 pack at Hy-Vee for your next road trip up to Lincoln. 🙂
