Blushing Monk

Fruit Beer

Blushing Monk is brewed with a ridiculous amount of raspberries and with a Belgian yeast strain that keeps our head cellar operator from sleeping for a week. It pours a stunning deep berry red and, at 9.2% ABV, has a surprising kick. The perfect dessert beer, it can be enjoyed on its own or paired with fresh cheeses, fruit, cakes and more.

Goodness. It’s well done. A bit sweet but refreshing for a 9%.

Beer #2 from my silent auction purchase. This one is packed with raspberry flavor. It is a little sweeter than I am used to but a nice change of pace.

Aging this has improved beyond what I expected. Sweetness has come waaaaaay down but raspberry stayed. Impressive.

Extra sweet and strong. Similar to frombosi but with a solid ABV.

What the fuck even is this beer? Do I hate it because it’s too sweet or do I genuinely appreciate its sweetness to allow the intense 9.4% strength to get the job done quickly? I’m at a loss here. Not a fan of sweet beers, but damn.

Fruit at the start. A tart middle. Honey sweetness at the finish. Very good.
