Not your typical barleywine. This one is way more roasty, but just as complex. There’s caramel, toffee, roasted malt, pine hops, lighter citrus and citrus rind, hints of molasses, maple syrup and coffee, slightly burnt malt, char, charcoal and brown sugar

Alles mooi in balans, heerlijk!

Hoppy as all get up with a nice balance of caramel and bitterness. Great example of an American BW.

Superb heavy-duty big beerness here. Bitter hops and chewy burnt caramel malts. A superlative and on-mark barleywine. Couldn't be better in class.

Interested to see what a year or two of aging would do, but delicious none the less.

Hoppy Barleywine. Sneaky high ABV. Liked that it didn’t feel as thick (syrupy) like other Barleywines.

Ok this beer needed a little age on it. 6 months later I get it now. Roasty, sweet, smooth. Gonna buy a couple more bottles and save for a few years

Very bitter for a barley wine. Like a stout barley wine.

Love it!

Barleywine? Maybe a hint. I can definitely tell in the aftertaste once it warms up. It is actually pretty decent even though I can't describe any flavors. All I'll say is that it's not bad and unique! Good for a mass produced "small batch."

Not normally a barley wine guy, but love Founders. Sweetness to the beginning of the beer and finishes bitter. Definite barley wine nose.
