Foret Du Centre Light Toasted Chlubna
About a decade in the bank and time to spare. Not as aggressive as the darker toast, but pleasantly roasty with candied dark fruit.

Foret De Troncais Medium Toasted Chlubna
2014. How can a decade old beer be this good? Classic in every sense of the word. If BW is life, this is the lifeblood. Little to no oxidation, with a pleasant bite reminding you of its pedigree. Warming at 19.3%, but so smooth! Cognac soaked dark fruits.

World Wide Stout (2023) Chlubna
Dark fruit with a roasty, dark cherry finish. I LOVE the fact that this isn’t barrel aged, and yet it encapsulates everything a fantastic BA beer should. ABV at 15.5 is moderate, as is the heat. A shining example of stout mastery. 4.4

Wake Up World Wide Stout Chlubna
Bottle proclaims it’s “only” 15.3% 😜 the coffee (as it should be) is the all star. Sublimely drinkable. There’s a splash of maple 🍁 (well done 👏🏻) and a hint of cinnamon spice. (If I didn’t know it was in there it might be unnoticeable) 👇🏻

World Wide Stout - Bourbon Barrel Aged (2019) Chlubna
That’s a massive shot of bourbon! Can’t imagine what this might have been like fresh as it’s still coming in strong 3 years later. There’s a very long warming sensation that lasts all the way down to your belly. Tasting notes: Bourbon! Thanks Kainoa C.

4/5/21 grapefruit margarita. Happy Birthday to me! 🎉🍻

Tastes like aperol soaked in red wine with a solid layer of funk. I would say it’s aged beautifully, but it’s not going to be for everyone.

Santa's Little Helper (2016) Chlubna
Nearly vinous as the caramelized dark fruit has evolved into vanillin, toasted oak and rich leather.

KBS Cinnamon Vanilla Cocoa (2021) Chlubna
Perfect for a rainy Sunday morning. Balanced, but I wish it had more edges tbh. Every adjunct is present and accounted for, but nothing stands out. Roast is subtle, which is my complaint with KBS. A splash of cinnamon dusted bourbon finishes the sip.

October Eve, first pumpkin beer of the year. Malt forward, subtly sweet, charred pumpkin.

Foret Limousine Medium Toasted Chlubna
Gorgeous expression of a barleywine. Incredible sipper with subtle residual sweetness sweetness, balancing the heat from the high abv.

Hoppy as all get up with a nice balance of caramel and bitterness. Great example of an American BW.

I don’t have this very often, but every time I do, I’m reminded how amazing it really is. First “IPA” I ever liked and It’s still perfection. Subtly sweet orange liquor.

Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) Chlubna
Thanks Kainoa C. Way too smooth for 17%. This is beautifully refined and definitely gives you the sense of exquisite barrel aging with high-end spirits. Absolutely beautiful stout.

Underground Mountain Brown (2019) Chlubna
Super rich and roasty with waves of coconut and vanillin bourbon. Even better than KBS IMO.

11/18/19 this one was definitely better fresh, espresso has declined significantly.

Backwoods Bastard (2018) Chlubna
9/19/18 peaty scotch ale wrapped in a blanket of smooth oaky bourbon. Beginning the slide into oxidation, but still warming and rich.

5/1/19 agave still dominates making this very sweet, but it’s a killer pool beer.

Foret Du Centre Medium Toasted Chlubna
Slight oxidation leads to an expressive sweetness of candied dark fruit and a splash of smoke akin to an aged cognac.

Foret De Troncais Light Toasted Chlubna
Caramelized dark fruit, black licorice and toasted nuts. Off sweet with a long, dry, warming finish. There’s a lingering heat akin to a dram of aged cognac that hints towards the presence of the 19%. Legit fireside sipper.

The description nails it. Spicy saison meets lactic sour with a mildly bitter finish. It’s really quite complex and beautiful.

This is insanity! Alcohol soaked, treacle, figs & dates. A little umami and a bitterly dry finish. The 15% is incredibly smooth. If this is what Catherine the Great was drinking, I totally get it! 🍺👸🏼👍🏻 RIS to the moon! #StoutDay2020

Beer Geek Vanilla Maple Shake (2017) Chlubna
Super maple bomb 🍁💣 with light roatiness. A tad sweet for my taste, would prefer more coffee.

It’s a wonderful Summer sipper with a beautiful inclusion of agave. It’s a tad sweet, even now, but perfect for balmy Summer weather.
