Lekkere Barleywine van Founders Brewing. Zoet in de aanzet maar ook best bitter, daarnaast fruitig. De bitterheid overheerst en dat is op z’n minst gezegd jammer

Not as good as I might have hoped, but considerably better than I expected based on recent reviews…

Nice and malty to start and then lots of bitter hops to finish. Not super Belgiany, but a descent beer none the less.

Dark roasty malt, bitter in the whole mouth and strong one. Barleywine taste and hint of coffee. Good for digest after a BBQ

Big and boozy beer. Definitely hoppy as advertised and the abv is apparent. Seems more like a strong ale than a barleywine

A BW right out of the gate tonight!! This BW is darker than I would expect, and the taste explains it all. A lot more toasty tasting, roasted malts mostly dominate this beer. A nice rendition that's a little bit different than the typical BW.

They dialed the hops way up for this. Immense pine sap bitterness that overpowers the roasted malts. Very dark color. It smells of dank hops and burnt caramel. I enjoy the body a lot. Though it may benefit from some major aging. 3.8

This will rip your earlobes off with bitterness and alcohol. A little more stale and onion-y than most barleywines.

Chocolate, toasted bread, caramel, roast, vanilla, herb and malt aroma. Flavours follow amped up. Medium bitter and body, light sweet. Chewy caramelly malt finish. Fairly intense and full-flavored.

Weird combo of flavors. Hoppy slash malty, but also sweet. Thinking it'll balance out more as it warms.

Smooth sweet and toasty for the front, followed by serious bitterness to round out the finish. Lots of flavor here. Is it my favorite barleywine no, but I’d have another.
