When introduced to me as “Barley Wine” I was expecting sweet and potent, test this was incredibly smooth and somewhat hoppy resembling an IPA. Was enjoyable, but not something I’d actively seek out.

Roasted malts and dark toasted bread up front. There are some high level bitter notes along with some dark fruits like prunes or dates. Good and complex.

Malty, bready, roasty, with a touch of bitterness. Quite good.

Deep malt flavor, just right on the hops. Quite a bit of booziness.

so first thought was Arrogant Bstrd then tasted a little green, this strong ale grows a long bitter that settles in

Smooth on the front end with a noticeable "hoppyness" on the back.

Unlike any other barley wine I’ve had before. The bitterness of the hops overpowered the sweetness.

They're not kidding. That's quite bitter. That's seems to be the intent so👍 I just personally enjoy barleywine heavier on sweetness and malt. Maltiness is enjoyable.

Very aggressive. Even as an American style Barleywine, it's over the top bitter/roasty, really tastes more like a black ale/ipa.

Feels like it’s missing something. Kind of bland, but not too bad. Lots of maltiness.

Lots of flavor with hops up front then fading to malt.
