Despite it having a good amount of hops to balance the extra malty flavor, it doesn't really have a balance. It's extra sweet up front, and nom pleasantly bitter on the back end of the palate.

Huh, super dark roasted malts, and yet super boozy and nicely hopped. Like a black barleywine... is Cascadian barleywine a genre yet? I approve.

3months wasn't enough to mellow out this beast, I'll see what 2-3 yrs does. Bitter bite n only Subtle sweetness. Similar to '21 Bigfoot.

This beer is hard to describe, like someone dumped an west coast IPA and a roasty stout and mixed it into a barley wine. I probably should have aged it to smooth out the edges

Not a lot on the nose. A fantastic mouth feel. Dark like a stout. Great taste and aftertaste of a great barleywine and a perfect amount of hops.

I’ll rate it pretty good for what it is. It’s well don’t, just not my thing. Reminds me though right away of the old days at British Isles in Okemos. Who remembers that killer dive? 😀

Oh yeah, that’s good stuff. Malty, dark and delicious. Aaaaaand I have to chug it…

Lightly sweet, malty, and a pleasant hoppiness. At least this one didn’t end up all over my table and my paperwork and my manuals, basically everything in its wake. 🍻1️⃣❤️🌎☮️

Haven’t had this in about 11 years - looks like it was changed to a BW from a maple BBA wheat wine this time. This tastes how I remember Bigfoot used to when I liked it - smooth and malty with some roastiness and just enough bitterness. 3/8/21 bottle.

Sweet at the front and then a bit hit right at the end. Very boozy

Very interesting brew. I'm not a barleywine drinker, so this may be kinda lost on me. It's good though. Kinda like a strong ale, but with more going on and bitter like an IPA. I'd drink it again. In fact, I think I'll have it at least 3 more times.

A harsh American Barleywine, like it should be. Toffee, caramel and then the hop bite. This would be a nice beer to sit on for a couple of years

Dark beers for summer? Yes please. Dark beers that require a sitting and time to enjoy my? Yes again. This is rather good.

I love most Founders stuff( stouts, Barleywine a and scotch ales especially) but man this beer has an identity crisis . They call it a Barleywine but I’m getting none of the profiles I would recognize as one. Sorry not feeling this one at all.

This stuff is really bitter. I actually poured some Maraschino Cherry juice into it to take some of the bitter off. I assume I will be kicked off this platform for doing that, so… nice knowing you all.

Big, sweet boozy malts you want from a barleywine, with a bitter finish to balance it out. Toffee and caramel notes. So smooth, with a body reminiscent of an RIS. Quite good.

Very complex! Slight sweetness in a bitter drying base with a burn finish! Not like other BWs. Go Bruins! #GIAG™️ #FOUTR™️

Yum!! So many flavors going on! Not your typical oversweet barley wine like Bigfoot. Tastes almost like it's barrel-aged. Glad I bought all they had!!
