Fact: All barleywines should be barrel aged. Fact: American barleywines should not exist. Fact: I am an old man yelling at clouds.

Malty start with a hard transition to hoppiness. Very drastic and stark transition.

Happy National Beer day! This is a hoppy dark beer. Lots of stuff going on here. Get some roastiness with some subtle sweetness. Definitely stronger on the hoppy side with those piney notes.

Yikes. Not apparent from the label it's a barleywine

A roasty malt under a rather smooth hoppy bitterness

Barleywine. Roasty, toasty, lightly heavy hopped up. Little malt sweetness as the beer warms up some.

Don’t think it’s as bad as some friends described but it does have some fusel notes. Mostly it’s just boring with little flavor.

Not sure about this yet. First sip it was too sweet. Then I got the roasted malts. Digging It more. Like a hearty black IPA. Here is to missing getting a vaccine appointment!

The label says mahogany color?? Bullshit! This is way darker but not too malty nor dominated by roast malt flavor, kind of insipid?! Maybe it needs to be aged. Not bad but not worth the $$$

I hate to do this to a Barleywine but I just didn’t really enjoy it. Tons of tonguefeel and a little too bitter.

Yeah shouldn't have bought a 4 pack. Too hoppy for an American barleywine in my opinion. Should've known at $11 a 4 pack.

I get a little bit of black cherry soda in this before the hopps beat your taste buds to death.

Roasted malts pull the profile of this beer far away from a traditional barleywine. Scotch ale and black ale notes. The beer is good but in the style it's a pass for me.

Was assuming that special barley wine complexity but got fair. Mild alcohol and hops and sweet.
