Pleasantly surprised to have found this in New England. More roasty than most others of the style, with a resinous frontend and a little bit of toffee and caramel in the body. I'll have to come back in a year or two to see how it ages

Not digging the bitterness. Smells boozier than it tastes.

Well, it’s an American Barleywine. It’s a fairly tolerable one, though. Gotta drink it fast before it warms up and hates me.

Can’t believe I never checked in this brew over the years. Solid 3.75

Dark brown hue, classic barleywine flavors of dark fruit and caramel, boozy, on the hoppier side with a bitter finish. Prefer English style, but would love to see how this ages

I'm sure it's a good barelywine but it's a nope for me. Blagh!

Usually not a fan of American Style Barleywines. This doesn't taste like an American Barleywine, but I'm still not a fan. Huge malty nose; boozy; roasty, smokey flavors; piney, dry, chalky finish. I like the malty, roasty & smokey parts. Otherwise, no.

This is so good. Tastes like a mix between a barleywine and a black IPA. Bitter, boozy, malty. Delicious.

Docking a quarter point for false advertisement. This is an imperial black IPA masquerading as a barley wine. It’s delicious!...just not what I thought I was getting...

Good but not very Barleywine. The wee heavy has more classic Barleywine taste

Dark roasted coffee, surprising pine bitterness that lingers, mildly sweet caramel to finish. Reminds me more of a Black IPA similar to Surly’s Damien, than it does a Barleywine.

Doesn’t really taste like a barleywine. More like an imperial porter.

Not as aggressively bitter as some American Barleywines I’ve had, but I still prefer the English style
