KBS Spicy Chocolate

Coffee and chocolate forward, smooth, mild earthy pepper nuances. No big kick here, but it's still tasty and the pepper is noticeable. However, since the name has the word "spicy" in the name I can see how this would be seen as a bit of a letdown

Light, soft body, tropical, floral, bitter stone fruit, dry

KBS Blueberry

Blueberry tartness overpowers any other nuances. Wishing for more balanced effort between blueberry and the coffee/ barrel flavors normally present. Drinkable but won't get again

...and the sun's back out! Was chillin' on the deck with eclipse glasses, vodka chocolate orange martinis, and Pink Floyd too on the nose? I don't think so. Orange and mango, light and fruity, moderate acidity, crisp finish

Definitely a breakfast beer, and if you don't love maple you better skip this one. Great mixture of maple, cinnamon, vanilla and bourbon. My favorite bastard for sure

18 months in... No carbonation, cold is the equivalent of bourbon and water, warmer the bourbon dominates sweet maple and vanilla

Chewy hazelnut and coffee, one of my favorite flavor combinations! Sweet and smooth enough that bourbon doesn't come through until it warms. Great addition to the lineup

Love Frangelic, which this reminds me of. More barrel flavor, richer and less sweet. Always drawn to hazelnut coffee and this doesn't disappoint

The milk chocolate and coffee aroma alone is almost better than actually drinking it! A step up from the bottle with espresso and chocolate becoming more intense. Smoother with barrel flavors still present but the booze is more subdued

A bit syrupy for me, wood can't save this. Love maple, but hate when cherry reminds me of cough syrup

Soft orange hue. Highly carbonated, overripe mango and vanilla are there, just not very present. Needs more fruit tartness and vanilla sweetness to get that pastry sour feel. Light way to start the day

Was going to have this Valentine's Day, but then I ended up working a double shift... Maple syrup hue, stickier with more maple coming through than the 2017, a sweeter less boozy curmudgeon, but still delicious nonetheless

Dark rich pour. Smells fudgy! Am I surprised that it tastes like liquid fudge? Came here close to closing time, otherwise I'd let this baby sit. As it warms more of the maple and coffee comes through. Glad I finally got to try it. Thanks James H.

Frangelic Mountain Brown (2019)

Last one from last year, and it's a good thing too. At a year and a half old it's more than met its prime. Starting to break down, not as sweet, very mild coffee and hazelnut notes, mostly tastes like roasted malts. Still drinkable though

Shared thin dark pour. Smells like chocolate, coffee, and caramel. Tastes overwhelmingly of bourbon, strong and smooth, with hints of coffee and chocolate

KBS Espresso (2020)

Rainy afternoon pour. Thick, black hue that smells like straight up coffee and booze. Espresso and bourbon hit strongly right away, but smooths out with coffee, vanilla and caramel finish. Definitely better on tap

Shared maple pour. Apparently from 2018, butterscotch and vanilla nose, tastes like sweet maple syrup and caramel with enough bourbon present to balance the sweetness but not be overwhelming. Definitely one to savor

Caramel colored hue. Smells like tequila and lime. Both salty and sweet, this tastes like a margarita on crack. Way better than I thought it would be

Golden hue. This reminds me a lot of Frangelic. Like, a lot. It's lighter in mouthfeel, a little heavier on the coffee and a little less sweet than Frangelic, but the taste is very similar
