Malty and almost roasty. Slightly bitter. Darker than I expected.

Very solid all-around. Big roasted malts and a surprising hop punch. Just a touch of sweetness.

This is a lot, Carmel, burnt, bitter, hoppy and sweet. Don’t rate it till you are half way through. I really enjoyed it but it’s a max one per night

Solid BW! Hope they're BA'ing some of this. Yum! Camera still sucks!

Not bad. Nice change of pace. 4-4.25 or so. Roasty malty.

A solid barely wine.... will definitely repeat.

Was going to save this for my "weekend", but figured I had to try a bottle since it is National Beer Day. This is a complex brew- like all the grains of harvest dried and then set on fire to the point of carmel sweet reduction. Booze heavy, but entrancing

Man this mf-er was sooo bitter straight out of the fridge. Once it warmed it became much more interesting. I got herbal notes, pour over coffee, red apple, maple sweetness, licorice, and of course a ton of earthy and grassy bitterness from the hops

Boozeball malt haymaker. Hops add a refreshing bitterness. Definitely more of a heavier beer. Honestly I kinda love it though

Maybe the hoppy-ist Barleywine I have had!!! Quite bitter!!

Surprised to see it pour dark. Nice bitterness! GREAT craft beer! Paired it with a honey bourbon cigar. ;-)

Not your typical barley wine. Very roasty, not boozy, not sweet.

Lovely Barleywine, aggressively hopped with a nice toffee malt profile

Docking a quarter point for false advertisement. This is an imperial black IPA masquerading as a barley wine. It’s delicious!...just not what I thought I was getting...

Holy cripes. Intensity. Intensely sweet and malty. Intensely hoppy and bitter. Huge beer. Huge flavor. Huge thank you to Founders for brewing this beast.

The deep roasty notes do little to prepare you for the big bold flavors that try to hide the %11.2 abv. Plenty of malty goodness including caramel, light vanilla, coffee and cocoa that plays well with the 75 IBU's which brings on a bitterness for balance

Great way to wind down at the taproom after seeing my tigers win! It's kinda like a heavy scotch ale or something? IDK... I forgot to check in at the time so this review is like a week late.... Leave me alone! 🤣🤷

Boozy, complex mix of flavors. Lots going on. Both roasty and bitter, with subtle malty sweetness. Kinda what you'd expect out of something unique like a barleywine.

Fragrant hops on the nose. Dark and roasted malts per style. Big body and high IBUs but balanced well. Slight bitterness on after taste. Nice. To a malthead, probably better aged a year.

Lowest rated beer on my flight is a 4.25... yeah that's a win.

Very coffeeish and toasty, but light enough to have in warmer weather

There’s some fruit in it, a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one

Fabulous. Roasty, malty, burnt caramel and a mild piney bitter finish.

Ratings are surprisingly low for this one, but I enjoyed it
