So yummy over 7 years later! Bottled on 9/30/16 @ 6:07 a.m. Love this beer! What a super fun Birth-week! 2 fantastic concerts, great friends & a lot of damn good beers! Back to football next weekend! Time to go to THE GAME! GO BLUE! 3PEAT!!!

Smooth and sweet, but turning thin on the front end. Still excellent in 2024!

Cellaring has leveled out this bold brew, but it is by no means mellow. All the right notes are still present with next to no "hot" boozy notes. Still incredible after all those years in the cellar

From the cellar. Super mellow and smooth. Light scotch and oak notes, roasted dark malts and maybe bourbon soaked raisins that linger. Ever so slightly oxidized. Enjoyable

Smoky and boozy. Nice malt base and aging really shows up.

Already from the first sniff I knew that this would be great. The barrel-aging comes forth great in the nose and also has hints of raisins and a little plum. The taste is sweet, it has layers and carries a bit caramel. Lovely.

Bourbon all over the place, also some dusty oak. Not too boozy, tho. Some caramel and sweet coffee notes.

10/12/16. Not too thin but the wood did fade a bit. Still very good.

Oudje uit Michigan, Backwoods Gandalf. Mooi in de whisky, karamel, gedroogd fruit en toch nog steeds flink in de lichtbittere kruidigheid. Scherpe randjes zijn eraf, heel mooi vol, doch zacht. Nomnomnom

2015 and 2016. 2015 probably hit its limit. 2016 is tasting great.

Nice finish. Subtle bourbon barrel aging. I tagged carmel rather than sweet.

I feel lucky for Pete K. to have included me to try this 4 year old aged brew! Had this yesterday on a quick trip to Pete's to watch some football on a mid December day...less than 2 weeks to Christmas. Covid 19 vaccine being delivered. Great flavor notes
