Utopias Barrel-Aged World Wide Stout (2020) J.
17.3% abv is why they call it “get some Monday!” Good barreling and plenty boozy. The sweetness of the barrel balances well with the dry RIS. It works!

Not sure it was supposed to age THAT much. Just look at the color to have proof this thing was stout. 20% ABV easy!

I like it! Fruit forward without being overly jammy. Very sour. A bit of decent backend barrelling. Very European, as expected. Thanks for the proxy, Louis N.

Now that’s that good good! Still one of the best stouts in the world and the maple and barrel notes beat its little brother! Winner!

This one is a bit smoother. Less alcohol, less coffee, less barrel. A tad sweeter but mostly just more mellow.

This one on the other hand is more robust, intense, coffee and boozy from start to finish. Can’t decide which is better so...tie!

There’s a reason it’s the OG (and winner)! The coffee balances the sweet maple. Also chocolate provides a nice silk body. Excellent!
