Velvet Rush

Brown Ale - Imperial / Double

Borrowing elements from both high-end craft cocktails and moody jazz clubs, Velvet Rush takes the bourbon barrel-aged brown ale up an octave with free-flowing notes of coffee, chocolate and vanilla extract. Milk sugar aids in weaving together this complex tapestry of flavors to create a unique sipping experience that really ties the room together.

It looks like fall has vomited on my counter. So I guess this was an appropriate beer. Smells like brownies and toasted bread.Big time vanilla with soft coffee and slight Chocolate bready notes. This one will probably be perfect with about a year cellared

Nice BBA Brown. Creamy chocolate coffee with nice barrel character. I like it as the season changes.

Pours dark brown, with a thin tan head which dissipates quickly to the edges leaving some lacing when swirled. Nose is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, sweetness of milk sugar and …there’s the bourbon. Mouthfeel slightly thick. Pleasing.

This is really nice. Get all the advertised flavors. Blends well with the bourbon aging.

Holy cow. This one definitely brings all the flavors as advertised. Light but, noticeable barrel aged taste. I know I’ve bagged on Founders before but, this is worth buying!

Nicely done for a barrel-aged brown ale! There’s the titular rush and what lingers is a fog of vanilla coffee that keeps you coming back.

Wow. Boozy, creamy, sweet - sip on this one. The vanilla is really pronounced with added barrel aging. Don’t get much coffee but will sit on the rest and see if the flavors change at all.
