Frootwood

Fruit Beer

We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.

Syrupy sweet cherry-laden Bourbon barrel Ale. Lower lip sticking to the glass rim. Lovely red color with bone-white head. Candy-ish and boozy main drive, strandy…almost Cognac. Bitter black cherry skin bite in back. A session-finisher. Cheers!

Check-in from yesterday. Each time I drink this I taste something different. This round tasted like maple...and breakfast.

I get the cherry. I get the maple syrup and the bourbon too. The final result seems to fall a bit flat though. Maybe it’s just me. Or might be the unavoidable cough syrup vibe.🤔🍒 BO=11/10/21👍🏻$4.99/12oz.🍻

Fruity with very unique barrel flavor. When I want this kind of a beer it’s a good choice.

What a well-composed brew here! Immediate cherry and vanilla with a smooth bourbon finish. Unique, inventive, and downright delicious!

Light and thin for barrel aged, very unique. The crisp cherry ale works well with the oak, slightly dry. The maple and bourbon are subtle and make this refreshing and crushable considering the abv. BOD 11/10/21
