Frootwood

Fruit Beer

We took a crisp, light-bodied cherry ale and hid it away in oak barrels that have held both bourbon and maple syrup. After a lengthy stint, it emerged a changed beer, blanketed in notes of warm vanilla and earthy sweetness. The wood proves itself the star of this beer, adding depth and taming the tart cherry while the maple imposes a velvety texture that lingers for not a moment too long.

Echt een heel lekker brouwsel. Zoet, maar net niet té, want de barrels zorgen voor tegenwicht. Heel knap.

#badgewhoring bourbon/vanilla scent, sweet cherry and vanilla taste, and an odd dry woody taste on the palate. Meh.

Fruity and sweet with a weird bitter aftertaste. Interesting and not what I expected but still good. Solid beer

Surprised I’ve never logged this before… maybe my favorite of all the favorites. Saved this one for welcoming Jonah home for the first time.

Klein beetje fruit, maar de Bourbon overheerst. Een beetje vlak.

Would have loved a non Oak barrel. I think the oakyness distracted from all the other lovely things happening here. Cherry and sweet maple, slight bourbon heat pops in. It has a complex profile. Reality is I just miss the original cherry founders beer

I get all the advertised flavors here starting with the tart cherry, sweet vanilla-maple & bourbon booziness. Medium body at most. Finishes with a bit of dryness but it brings a nice finely carbonated feel. I get the woodsy idea as well. Complex & tasty!

I like this beer, but if i tasted it blind and you asked me to identify the primary flavors I'm not sure i would have come up with chocolate and cherry. It's strong, rich, and ever so slightly tart.
