Brilliant idea and we'll executed. I was skeptical of the high ABV for a Märzen and maybe I'm drunk but I don't get as much booze taste from this as I do from a TIPA. Just sweet and bourbon barrel. Am I in love?

The extra oomph pushes the rating, but I think the folks in Munich may object to such an arrogant claim.

Would I drink more than one of these without knowing it was 10%. Yes! Very favorable, but I can see the reasoning why it's only sold in a four pack.

Not sure how this can still taste like a marzen lager but with the not-so-subtle bourbon barrel treatment, but it does. Kudos to Founders for another successful experiment! Very enjoyable big brew.

Aroma is fairly boozy and caramel heavy. Notes of vanilla cream come through as well. Definitely on the sweet side, but still good.

Strange mouthfeel. Almost salty in flavor and a bit buttery. Otherwise passable as a Marzen. I like the hint of Bourbon.
