Typical Märzen malt and caramel notes with that added vanilla hit of the bourbon barrel

12oz bottle. Sweet, malty depths (far beyond a typical Ofest) with added bourbon notes. 10% ABV + heavier body and flavor than normal too: I’d have labeled it a BA Imperial Oktoberfest. Nice departure from the norm! 3.9

Good. Lots going on. Not what I want in a typical Oktoberfest, but very good nonetheless.

I’m having this side by side with a regular Founders O’fest, a move which is 100% unnecessary. The barrel aged 10% vitamin ABV monster is a presence unto itself, like if Oktoberfest had a malt liquorized version. Different. I like it.

Barrel imparts sweetness and booziness. Like a cream sherry, malt beauty.
