First time having a BA Oktoberfest, the barrel pushes back the malty bitter flavor of the traditional style. I like it but I’m a barrel nerd.

I'm not sure what I am drinking. nose is a little sweet and bready. but then taste is like a kind of boozy biscuity bourbon with a bite. yet it comes in a beer bottle. oddly enough I think I like it. will update after another one or two.

BBA aroma is almost non-existent. While the flavor is not too strong, the BBA flavor overpowers the flavor of the beer and takes center stage. Flavor of the beer is almost completely lost. Honestly, we didn’t check the labels and missed that this is BBA.

The barrel aging takes all the malt flavor and pushes it to the back of the bus. Tasty and boozy, but not my favorite Oktoberfest.

Disappointing. Not a fan of the marzen style in general but I got hooked by the “barrel-aged”. Hoped for more flavor.

I like it and there is a huge bourbon, oaky, sweet and smoky thing going on here. However there is not quite enough of the malty Carmel that I’m looking for in an Oktoberfest

A bourbon barrel aged marzen, what a great idea. Maybe not so much. There is a boozy finish that takes over any flavors of the marzen.

Really boozy, probably because the flavor is more drawn in. It has the maltiness there, but is definitely more...extra.

Earned the rating mostly for the barrel aged smoothness. The Marzen flavor is very subtle

The bourbon overpowers the beer. Not a terrible thing if you like bourbon as much as I do.

Splitting this with J L. First time having a BBA Octoberfest. Definitely timely tasting the bourbon on top of the malty Octoberfest. Pretty smooth and tasty. 🤘🏻🍻🤘🏻

I have an expensive 4 pack of high test. I can’t say that I’m a fan of the barrel aging for an Ofest. As a bbl aged beer, it’s good but as far as a fest beer goes, meh.
