A marzen that is aged in a bourbon barrel is an interesting idea, but the bourbon overwhelms the traditional adjuncts. Ok, but maybe not the best style to barrel age.

I can't believe I am saying this, however, I prefer the original Oktoberfest to this. I think that the barrel notes distract from what a typical Marzen style ale should taste like. But...it is still pretty tasty

Founders is a great brewery and if you like Bourbon you’d probably love this one, just not for me

Rich malt, bread, vanilla, and bourbon notes. Clean profile. Medium body. Smooth mouthfeel. Medium-high alcohol warming. Malty finish.

Same as regular but certainly the bourbon takes over and if you want an Oktoberfest just get their regular one. Darker in color for sure.

A deep amber hue, molasses aroma, sweetness quickly followed by a burst of bourbon and vanilla, and a long dry finish. A big beer!

Something to kill the time while waiting for the manly dinner to finish up. Super tasty. Nice balance with the bourbon barrel. Just noticed it’s 10%. Perhaps it should have been dessert. Thanks, Art. I’ll be looking out for this in stores.

Big on the barrel aged taste here but I understand and appreciate what they did here. Had a bit of a burn on the finish.

Bourbon forward with light vanilla flavours. Quite strong.

Second time poured into a glass. Opens the beer up a bit and the aroma is nice. I don’t think I’m as impressed with it as I initially thought. Good but not excellent

Interesting concoction- barrel aged marzen. Strong bourbon thru out with initial octoberfest/marzen intro. Now need to try the regular founders octoberfest. Purchase at The Brew Station in Three Lakes.

Sweet and multi… You can almost taste the stone fruit from the bourbon barrel. I really like it, want to see how it is when it warms up a little. At 10% I’m not sure I’m going to be able to do another, lol🥃🍻👍🏿

There is a lot going on in this. Very strong bourbon, smooth, a bit boozy and a bit oaky!

Not a ton of the Oktoberfest taste. Lots of vanilla on the finish
