Backwoods Bastard (2013)

Scottish Ale

Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts, a bit of earthy spice, and a scintilla of dark fruit. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

A beer from a different time, but really it's held on so strong and holds up to newer bangers

Looks like chunks of dirt in the bottom. This should have been drank already but worth a try! Thanks Aaron!

After 7 years, most of the bourbon has become general sweetness. Still supple and smooth.

Shocked how this is even fuller after 7 years than the other one. Smooth, booze has settled, super creamy.

106/311. 2013 is such a great vintage. Also put up our Christmas tree a month earlier than normal.

Slightly better than the 2012. Not as smoky. Still zero card.

91/311. Another debate, another beer needed. This is drinking like liquid butterscotch. Pretty amazing. Still think this is the at the top of founders Ba beers.

So perfectly aged. Mellow and drinkable. Great easy going finale for Day 10 of Ten Days of Cellar Beers.

This is probably my last one still amazingly tasty! Great body good complexity as it warms getting no oxidation on this wonderful finish!
