Back and forth on this one. From the description you would expect a sweet smooth booze, but a significant roast takes the sweet edge off. Might benefit from 6 more months in the bottle.

Imperial Porter with maple syrup and vanilla extract and then aged in bourbon barrels. Strong vanilla aroma. It’s not all that thick or roasted with malt, dark chocolate, coffee, more than enough vanilla, a splash of maple, and a minor bourbon finish.

Really well blended and a good pairing with chili. Get the sweetness from the syrup and vanilla. Thanks Rich S.

Not a fan of vanilla extract but the maple syrup does a good job of leveling it out. Dry porter character but very little barrel aspect.

Rhizomes split and planted, lines run to brew shed. Lunch Deck Beer Reward. Excellent maple bourbon flavor that slowly dissipates. Will be aging the other three bottles for sure.

How the hell does Hy Vee grocery in Fort Dodge have this and didn’t see in the Des Moines area? Maple-bourbon-vanilla in that order, pretty damn tasty Porter. Will save you 1 Dwight H.
