Great nose, big and sweet. Flavor follows with sweet maple up front. Darker look and flavor, more dark brown than the classic bastard mahogany. Easy drinking when cold, warmed up to some bittersweet toasted malts that distracted.

Tasty. Scotch ales aren’t really my thing, but this is decent. Certainly, as advertised!

Delicious. Liquid french toast packed with maple. Nice malty flavor too. Not perfect, has it's flaws.

Oh my goodness. As it comes up towards your nose, you can smell the syrup. And I'm not the biggest fan of dirty b****** but I love this one.

Scotch ale. Infused with cinnamon and maple syrup, one of the best variations of Backwoods Bastard that I ever tasted. Thumbs up.

Vind Scotch Ale vaak wat zoeter, gelijkend aan stroop. Maar deze heeft dus een flinke bak maple en tevens wat vanille. Resultaat is een aardig zoet bier. Wel smaakvol, maar de bourbon wordt wel overklast door met name Maple en een beetje vanille.

Bring down the cinnamon and ocher too and we're better. Very good but not great
