Chris T. not just you. All I get is extract metallic twang. Always loved Backwoods and the french toast firkins at brewery were awesome. This isn’t that.

The base is my favorite Founders beer ever, and the adjuncts all but dominate it, but that’s not to say it’s pretty decadent. A touch harsh being fresh as regular Backwoods is. But the unfermentables are pretty well balanced, could’ve been a mess.

French toast in a glass! The nose and flavor are spot on. That does mean, sadly, that the base Bastard gets lost.

Happy Thanksgiving! Played some hockey this morning, now catching up on the World Cup.🇨🇭 1-0 🇨🇲 in the early game. Now onto 🇺🇾 vs 🇰🇷. No spoilers please! Heavy on the maple and vanilla, hint of cinnamon. Sweet, slight barrel. It’s decent.

Ordered not realizing it was barrel aged. Had a lot of vanilla/oak, and a lot more maple syrup than I remember. Was delicious especially after it warmed up a bit
