The king of American Porters (England holds the title with Old Engine Oil). This can be harsh on the palate for the inexperienced. Personally, I prefer Bell’s or Stegmaier but not available on the West Coast. Founders is often carried at Grocery Outlet.

Again, Founders does not disappoint! smooth, rich and semi sweet. Coffee, with notes of chocolate and maybe raisins??

Very smooth chocolate and coffee stout. I'm glad it's easy to find.

Perhaps the only beer that can get away with calling itself sexy

Coffee, chocolate, and vanilla. Very well balanced: sweet, roasty, bitter, and rich.

Bottled Feb 20. Pours dark with a khaki head. Chocolate and malt taste. Finish is slightly bitter. No idea what I'm talking about but a good beer and I have the world's best boss

Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and faint floral hops. Taste features dark chocolate and espresso and mild dark fruit. There is a present bitterness that lingers on the palate assumed to be from the roasted malt. "Dark, Rich & Sexy" may sum it up best.

Drinking porters back to back makes me appreciate the hint of smokiness/roastiness

Pours thick with chocolate on the nose. Perfectly toasty with faint dark chocolate notes. Very good!
