Clean lemony aroma with distinct barnyard notes. Tart lemon taste with notes of oak, white pepper, and chardonnay. Pleasant and somewhat dry finish. A beautiful sour! (Bottled September 2022)

Ginger, Spice, Barreled And Nice Jernigan
Aroma of ginger and clove with traces of oak and some hint of this being a barleywine. Taste features heavy amounts of booze with clove, ginger, and a touch of cinnamon. Very warm finish. Certainly a beer to sip and savor.

Aroma of tart fruit, caramel malt, and light floral hops. Raspberry is obvious in the flavor but not as intense as say Blushing Monk or New Glarus Raspberry Tart. While I prefer the more intense flavor of those beers, this is still a great fruit beer.

Stunning aroma of maple, vanilla, and oak. Taste features cinnamon, maple syrup, damp oak, and bourbon. Finish is rather warm and the illusion of maple syrup lingers. Great as it is now but I anticipate this will improve after laying down in the cellar.

Aroma of lime, grapefruit, oak, and faint booze. Taste is really nice with tropical fruit, agave, and tequila. Comes off more like a cocktail than a beer which is meant as a compliment. A really nice surprise!

Aroma of bourbon, oak, and caramel malt. Taste is quite nice with subtle undercurrents of vanilla, coconut, bourbon, and oak which give added complexity to what is probably a really well done Marzen. Moderate warmth on the finish. A nicely done beer!!

2018 bottle. Muddy brown pour with a rocky tan head. Aroma of brown sugar, green raisin, and toffee malt. Really nice flavor reminiscent of a Belgian Quad; caramel, candi sugar, cherry juice, raisin, and booze. Warm finish. Exceeded my expectations!

Aroma of faint cherry with obvious notes of bourbon and oak. Taste is really nice with noticeable amounts of cherry, just the right amount of maple syrup, and finishes with hints of bourbon, vanilla, Earth, and damp oak. Very well done!

Bottle Shop Series Highball Drifter Jernigan
Aroma of faint bourbon, caramel, and citrus. Taste is delightful with bold vanilla, oak, coconut, and bourbon upfront while cherry and citrus hover faintly in the background. Boozy finish but not too overpowering. A nicely done beer!

Underground Mountain Brown Jernigan
August 2019 bottle. Aroma contains strong coffee notes. Espresso and dark chocolate are noted in the taste but the oak has really tamed these flavors and the bourbon barrel really steps forward. The finish is MUCH warmer than a fresh bottle. Still good!

Aroma of grapefruit and faint chocolate. Taste is certainly hop-forward with floral and grassy notes, grapefruit rind, and then distinct coffee and dark cocoa on the finish. Comes off more like a black IPA but I am interested in re-visiting this.

Aroma of star anise, faint vanilla, and bourbon oak. Maple syrup taste upfront with vanilla, coconut, licorice, dark chocolate, and booze. Finish is warm but not hot with moderate bitterness. An excellent imperial porter!

Aroma of Belgian candi sugar and faint berries. The flavor features tart raspberry, as one would expect, but there is a generous amount of sweetness on the finish. Excellent overall and still the best fruit beer this side of Wisconsin.

Enticing aroma of bourbon vanilla, molasses, brown sugar, and booze. Creamy and rich vanilla flavor upfront, damp oak throughout, and toffee malt on the finish. Moderate alcohol warming. More akin to a barleywine or old ale given the bourbon presence.

Aroma of coffee and dark chocolate with faint floral hops. Big roasted espresso flavor with flaked oats and chocolate. Finish lingers with pleasant roasted malt and coffee bitterness. A long-time favorite.

Aroma of green raisin, honey, and faint lemon zest. Taste is rather akin to a Belgian tripel with flavors that mimic those candi sugar and yeast profiles. Finish is clean with some sweetness and mild warmth. Really well done.

Amazing aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. Strong coffee and chocolate flavor up front with a vanilla and boozy finish. Finish is warm with lingering coffee and mild bitterness. Absolutely phenomenal.

Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and faint floral hops. Taste features dark chocolate and espresso and mild dark fruit. There is a present bitterness that lingers on the palate assumed to be from the roasted malt. "Dark, Rich & Sexy" may sum it up best.

Curmudgeon's Better Half Jernigan
Aroma of oak, vanilla, bourbon, booze, and brown sugar. Taste does not disappoint with citrus hops followed by vanilla, coconut, maple syrup, and toffee. Surprisingly moderate alcohol warming considering the high ABV of 12.7%. An outstanding old ale!
