Bottled 10-18-22. On the nose, malt, bourbon and caramel. On the palate, malty, woody notes with more caramel and sugars. Light smoke to it which is nice. It's strong but smooth.

Not nearly as tasty as the French Toast Bastard, and not as boozy as I'd expect for a barrel aged, but good

Closer to a stout than an ale. Strong and a little sweet

Clear brown color. Roasty malt aroma. Strong bourbon flavor. Sweet. Full body mouthfeel. No head and no lacing.

This was good but a little too boozed up for me. Don’t get me wrong, I love booze flavors in beer, but the balance was just a little off here, making for a harsh experience.

It's nice to see my surly mug on a bottle of beer! This hits way above its belt with a punch of bourbon landing closer at 20% range. After the shock of the initial sip (because make no mistake - it's a sipper) the oak tannins morph into caramel candy.

Tasty, but considering it was bottled in September of 2021 and I'm drinking it in March of 2024 and has unknown storage history for those 2.5+ years...who knows how good it could have been.
