Not very heavy. Great flavor. Not syrupy in a good way. It has just barely a bit of coffee flavor and not being a coffee lover, it's still good.

Not as heavy as expected but still super malty. Sweet but has a slight bourbon aftertaste.

I’ve never not enjoyed a Founders Barrel Aged Series beer. Backwoods Bastard was no different. While it doesn’t quite hit the mark for me like KBS does, it’s a close second.

Can't go wrong with bourbon aged anything anything! I think I prefer porters/stouts in this fashion but still tasty nonetheless

These guys know their craft, this is a beaut! Such lovely, warm, caramelly notes...soft hints of oak, rich and fruity. Absolutely 💯!
